Discover Cornwall On Hudson
5 carefully curated photography spots with GPS coordinates, shooting tips, and local insights

Storm King State Park
Rugged 1,884-acre park with rocky ridgelines, Butter Hill vistas and Hudson River panoramas — great for wide landscape, seasonal foliage and intimate forest/wildlife shots. Trails are steep and slow; park dawn–dusk. Limited parking, no on-site toilets. Best at golden hour or fall color; expect bugs in summer.

Donahue Memorial Park (PERMIT PARKING ONLY)
Small riverside park with a gazebo, benches and riverfront lawn offering clear views across the Hudson and toward Palisades-style hills — great for reflections, fall color, train-spotting and kayaking. Permit/paid parking via ParkMobile (zone on signs); weekdays and early mornings avoid crowds. New restrooms on site; shoreline is shallow and rocky so shore-level foregrounds require care. Best light: golden hour and sunset for warm river reflections, overcast for moody long exposures.

Hudson Highlands Wildlife Education Campus
Compact wildlife education center and trails with tame native animals (opossum, turtles, snakes), interpretive exhibits and river/forest scenes along Roe Park. Great for close-up wildlife portraits, environmental shots with handlers, and short landscape frames of the Hudson Highlands. Small site—weekends often open 12–4; check seasonal hours. Accessible parking on-site and stroller/wheelchair friendly paths. Kid-focused, friendly staff often allow supervised handling—ask for photo access times.

Roe Park
Small riverside park on the Hudson with clear views of the Hudson Highlands and Storm King Mountain, grassy lawns, paved promenade and river access. No entry fee; street parking and a small lot on Boulevard. Best at sunrise and golden hour for warm side-light on the water and mountains; weekdays and early mornings avoid picnickers and dog walkers. Paths are wheelchair accessible; bring layers—wind off the river can be strong.

Pagenstecher Park
Small riverfront park on the Hudson offering direct water views, distant Hudson Highlands and Bridge outlines, seasonal foliage and calm reflections. Best at sunrise or golden hour for soft side-light on the river and hills; fall colors are especially photogenic. Park is free with limited roadside/lot parking on Dock Hill Rd; easy walk-in access and no entry fees. Weekdays and early mornings reduce local crowds.
