Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center
A compact, historic 12-acre Audubon sanctuary with woodland trails, a frog pond, small fountain and abundant songbirds — ideal for intimate nature and bird photography. Best at dawn or early morning (spring migration and breeding season attract birds; fall offers colorful foliage). Trails are short and mostly flat; parking is at the adjacent cemetery entrance (may be restricted during programs/camps). Weekday mornings are quiet; bring insect repellent and a long lens for skittish birds.

Tiffany Creek Preserve
Small, quiet preserve with two parcels of rolling hills, unmarked woodlands and a secluded pond (near a private home). Offers intimate landscape and waterscape scenes, seasonal color and snow textures. Access is informal: a crumbling asphalt drive leads to a circular parking pull-off; no bathrooms, no dogs, limited signage. Best at golden hour or overcast for rich forest tones; weekdays or early mornings for solitude. Bring boots for overgrown/unmarked trails.
