Hasties Swamp is a compact wetland sanctuary near Atherton, prized for dense waterbird populations and reflective marsh landscapes. Photograph dawn and dusk when ibis, brolgas and other waders are active and reflections are strongest. Easy access via Koci Rd with a car park and raised boardwalks/hides; mostly flat, short walks, suitable for tripods. Best in the dry season for clear reflections and concentrated birdlife; expect mosquitoes and bring sun/rain protection.
