RSPB Stoborough Heath

Expansive lowland heath with purple heather, gorse, ponds and open skies—excellent for heathland landscapes and close-up wildlife (skylarks, warblers, dragonflies). Best at dawn and dusk for golden light and active birds; late July–August for peak heather bloom, spring for migrants. Small RSPB car park on Furzebrook Rd; reserve is open to the public (typically free) with marked footpaths and uneven ground—bring stout shoes. Quiet weekdays have fewer walkers; watch for changing weather and biting
