Bandstand

West Point Foundry Preserve
Compact riverside preserve with 19th‑century foundry ruins, marshy inlet, small waterfall and elevated stair viewpoints. Easy, well‑marked trails from Cold Spring Main St or Metro‑North; small gravel lot at Kemble Ave. No fee. Best at golden hour or early morning for soft light, low crowds and reflections; winter bare trees reveal industrial structures. Trails are mostly easy but include stairs and some uneven ground.
Dockside Park
Small paved waterfront square with a historic cannon memorial, gazebo and benches offering clear views across the Hudson and Hudson Highlands. Ideal for intimate riverscape and village-detail shots; paved access and nearby Main St parking and Cold Spring Metro‑North station make it easy to reach. No entry fee; visit sunrise or golden hour for best light, or weekday mornings to avoid tourists. Close to Breakneck Ridge for combined hike+river compositions.
